Perfect harmony series8/31/2023 The way Jax speaks and says his lines literally make me laugh out loud. I live for Reverend Jax's alternate movie and TV show titles his Missionary parents forced on him. HOWEVER, what I REALLY look forward to each episode is Arthur and Jax. Ginny's best friend is a tough cookie and ex-husband's best friend has a crush on his ex-wife, Ginny. Her ex-husband is an idiot but the actor plays him so that you just can't help but love the guy. Ginny has heart but faults.her faults are adorable. What I like about this show is that each character has started to develop "a thing", quirk, that has them stand out as well as add to the show. So far, the show pedals in broad characters. Sadly, the show puts too much emphasis on Whitford who doesn't have much going for him. Brad Whitford is far too grumpy to be interesting though Anna Camp is somewhat of an original with her perkiness, Spring beauty, and an internal battle between restrained Southern charm and frustration-driven id. The show portrays the small-town characters as eccentric, the viewer loyalty generally leans towards the red state mannerisms of the locals as they are portrayed as far more emotionally open and genuine. More than anything else, "Perfect Harmony" is a red-state/blue-state clash of values and the sentimental highs it hopes to produce are from people overcoming their differences and meeting in the middle. He then decides to stay alive a few days longer through a choir competition against his new mortal enemy and things roll from there. The (extremely laborious) premise for the set-up is that the professor has just been fired and is on his way to bury his dead wife and subsequently commit suicide when he hears a church choir singing awful music and decides on instinct to give them some quick pointers before pulling the trigger. "Perfect Harmony" is an odd couple pairing between an uptight Princeton music professor (Brad Whitford) and the populace of a small Kentucky town. Don't expect a recreation of the former Glee TV series because this sitcom is new, fresh and packs a powerful punch that stands above the rest. I look forward to seeing much more of this Rocky themed choir belt out a few more songs that we can all relate to. So although everyone has their periodic lows in their own lives, as a group this choir/cast is a hit. ![]() All of the choir have weaknesses and strengths just like you and me, and Arthur appears to have a knack with his abruptness and candor for bringing out the best in his new found choir both in their personal lives, and with their singing ability. ![]() Rather than drink a quart of scotch and pop a bottle of pills, give up on life and pull his own proverbial plug, Arthur asks and looks for a sign to go on with life while illegally parked in front of the Second First Church of the Cumberlands and then he hears the church choir practicing that appears to need being saved, more than Arthur does so he takes it upon himself to give this cast of characters a choir leader. Arthur (Bradley Whitford) is an Ivy League music professor who has fallen off the wagon and lives on a houseboat. ![]() This new sitcom has so much potential just like the cast of the unknown church choir in Perfect Harmony.
